Job Description:

• The Engineer 2 position requires 5-7 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.
• Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
• Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.

Job Responsibilities:

• Job responsibilities include creating a safe work environment by putting safety first.
• Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding design practices and work processes.
• Using all software applications used in design, understanding industry and client design standards.
• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system, supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations, estimating material for projects, transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.

Skillsets & Expertise:

• Skillsets and expertise required for this position include good engineering knowledge, problem-solving skills, some discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor.
• Discipline software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.

Education:

• Accredited bachelor's degree.
