Location: Field-Based (Assigned Market)


Role Overview


The Energy Sales Consultant is responsible for educating homeowners, running in-home appointments, and closing residential energy improvement projects (solar, roofing, HVAC, insulation, batteries, and related upgrades).


This role is 100% performance-driven. You are expected to run appointments, follow Housebuildr’s sales process, close deals with integrity, and own the customer experience from contract to install.


Key Responsibilities


Sales Execution


  • Run in-home sales appointments scheduled by the company or self-generated

  • Present energy solutions clearly and confidently using approved tools and presentations

  • Diagnose homeowner needs and recommend appropriate energy products

  • Close deals at company-approved pricing and terms

  • Accurately complete contracts and required documentation

Process & Compliance


  • Follow Housebuildr sales SOPs, scripts, and pricing guidelines

  • Use the CRM correctly and update deal status in real time

  • Ensure homeowners fully understand scope, timelines, and expectations

  • Maintain ethical sales practices—no misrepresentation or pressure tactics

Customer Experience


  • Set clear expectations from sale through installation

  • Serve as the main point of contact until install handoff

  • Communicate proactively with operations when issues arise

  • Protect the brand by delivering a professional, trustworthy experience

Performance & Accountability


  • Hit weekly and monthly sales targets

  • Attend required sales meetings, trainings, and ride-alongs

  • Accept coaching and apply feedback quickly

  • Take ownership of results—no excuses, no handoffs

Required Qualifications


  • Proven sales experience (in-home, solar, roofing, or high-ticket preferred)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Coachable, competitive, and self-motivated

  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel within market

  • Smartphone, tablet, and basic tech proficiency

Preferred Experience


  • Residential solar or home improvement sales

  • One-call close environment

  • Commission-only or performance-based roles

  • CRM-based sales organizations

Compensation


  • Commission-only (uncapped)

  • Paid per closed and installed deal

  • Performance bonuses and advancement opportunities available
