Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Endoscopy Technical Specialist to join our Endoscopy team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
The Endoscopy Technical Specialist is responsible for performing delegated activities related to patient care and overall team support in the GI procedure room setting. Under the supervision of a physician or nurse, will assist with direct patient care during procedures and assist the physicians with necessary equipment (forceps, snares, balloons, etc) used during all procedure types.
The Endoscopy Technical Specialist will be responsible for performing all essential duties of the Endoscopy Technician which may include various patient care roles and duties outside of the procedure room, such as the recovery room, supply stocking, and endoscope reprocessing room.
Work Schedule:
Endoscopy Technician Specialists work 10‑hour shifts with rotating start times of 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m., and 7:30 a.m. Technicians are also assigned rotating late‑stay shifts to support end‑of‑day coverage and closing responsibilities. Specialists will rotate between the Burnsville and St. Louis Park locations as part of their regular schedule and may be assigned to the Maple Grove location as needed. Weekend on‑call coverage is required and assigned on a rotating basis.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
One year of healthcare experience
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
Completion of the SGNA GI Associates Program to be recognized as a GI Technical Specialist (GTS) within 1 month of hire.
Current BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines within 2 weeks of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
Have human relations skills to work as part of a team by demonstrating, but not limited to:
The ability to maintain patience
Use of mature judgment
Sound reasoning skills
Courteous behavior
Preferred Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
On year of experience with equipment cleaning and reprocessing or as an Endoscopy Technician.
Possess one or more of the below qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech, Endoscopy tech, or Instrument Tech(sterile processing) program.
EC tech
EMT
Scribe
Associates degree or higher
CMA
LPN
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
Certification as a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
