Position Overview:


Supports the operational functionality of the endoscopy unit by providing procedural room preparation, equipment maintenance, scope reprocessing, supply maintenance, and advanced technical and procedural support to physicians and nursing staff during gastrointestinal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff, assists in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with infection prevention and regulatory standards. Requires demonstrated competency in endoscopy equipment handling, scope reprocessing, and in room procedural assisting for general and advanced gastroenterology procedures.

EDUCATION:

+ High School Diploma or GED


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:


+ BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:


+ 1 year recent relevant experience


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:


+ Experience in endoscopy services or demonstrated competency assisting with gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures in an acute care setting.

+ Knowledge of gastrointestinal anatomy, procedures, endoscopic views, and endoscopic equipment.

+ Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

+ Ability to interpret instructions and information presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

+ Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced procedural environment.

+ Effective communication skills when interacting with physicians, nurses, patients, and multidisciplinary teams.

+ Working knowledge of electronic health records and standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities.

+ Ability to evaluate and resolve routine problems using established policies, procedures, and available resources.
