A Brief Summary of This Position

The End Prep Operator is responsible for preparing tubes by removing excess burrs and ensuring product quality through visual inspection. Key tasks include deburring both the inner and outer diameters (I.D. and O.D.) of tubes, operating tools such as handheld grinders and rotary files, and ensuring tubes are straight before passing them to the next process. The operator also coordinates with inspectors and bundlers to manage tube flow, run bundles, and ensure proper tube length for customer specifications. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a clean work area, following safety protocols, and performing basic machine operations, including running the crane and occasionally CIR pipe measurements. This entry-level position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to lift and handle materials effectively.

  • Operate groover, straightener, and oiler machines to produce high-quality tubing, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.

  • Roll tubes across a rack to the straightener, ensuring accurate alignment and smooth processing.

  • Measure tubes as necessary to ensure they meet required specifications, using tools like tape measures or other equipment as directed.

  • Adhere to all required safety protocols, wearing appropriate PPE and following safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with team members, bundlers, and inspectors to share information, address issues, and ensure efficient operation and quality control.

  • Assist with tube setups on the mill when changing tube sizes, ensuring smooth transitions and proper configurations.
