Location County Department FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES Days and Hours Part-Time Flexible Schedule Required Requisition Number Position Goals Job Description This position is working at a Camden County Government location and NOT on the campuses of Camden County College. Government Services Officers - Emergency Medical Technician (GSO-EMT) report to and are under the supervision of the Director of the Government Services division.

Their duties include, but are not limited to:

• Greeting and directing the public • Crime prevention • Protection of life and property • Access control • Investigation • Enforcement of policies and procedures for Camden County College and the County of Camden • Responding to medical calls and providing competent, efficient, and immediate care to the ill and injured • Collaborating with other emergency medical personnel, such as paramedics, to help stabilize patients • Maintaining an acceptable level of order, control, and safety in and around the assigned site • Welcoming, assisting, and responding to all inquiries from Directors, associates, visitors, and staff in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner • Emphasizing a standard of superior customer service to all who are encountered in the course of performing duties • Ensuring physical security by controlling access of associates and visitors, along with maintaining visitor and alarm panel control logs • Effectively operating and acting as lead personnel in the operation of the pedestrian magnetometers and hand wands, where necessary • Monitoring designated areas using a range of techniques, such as foot patrols, walking stair towers, and operating security camera systems, where applicable • Preparing a Daily Patrol Log chronologically listing all activities, incidents, and actions taken during the shift in a clear and concise manner • Preparing all required written and electronic reports on prescribed forms in a clear and concise manner • Conducting surveillance to detect and prevent violations of site policy and state law and reporting the same to appropriate authority • Conducting building inspections and reporting hazards promptly by notifying proper authorities • Participating in access control screening, ID checks, investigations, building searches, fire drills, and other similar functions after receiving appropriate training • Rendering first aid and other medical assistance as required to ones level of expertise or as directed by medically competent persons • Responding to all calls for service and critical incidents effectively assisting site staff and emergency personnel in all situations • Escorting visitors to designated areas to or from parking lots and other locations as needed • Following orders and assignments from appropriate authority in a cooperative, timely, and effective manner

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Criminal Justice preferred. Current and valid EMT License from the New Jersey Office of Emergency Medical Services. Valid drivers license in good standing. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with other employees and the public, both verbally and in written form. Certification in CPR, NARCAN, and First Aid or obtaining certification during the probationary period. Proficient in computer skills relevant to effective report writing and information exchange, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
