EMT/AEMT Course Coordinator/Instructor

Pay Range: $70,469-$81,040 per year

The opportunity:

This is a full-time position as both the Course Coordinator and Instructor.

The EMT/AEMT Course Coordinator at Tooele Technical College plays a crucial role in advancing the college's mission of providing high-quality technical education and training to a diverse student body, including high school students. This position involves the design, delivery, and quality assurance of the EMT and AEMT training programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of educational excellence and regulatory compliance. The Course Coordinator will collaborate with faculty, high school programs, students, and community industry partners to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

The EMT/AEMT Instructor is responsible for teaching and training students in both the practical and theoretical aspects of advanced emergency medical services, including patient assessment, treatment procedures, and medical protocols. They evaluate student performance to ensure competency and readiness for exams, including the National Certification exam, NREMT. Additionally, they ensure compliance with educational standards, contribute to curriculum development, and mentor students throughout their training.

What we're looking for:

  • Competent in all aspects of the Emergency Medical Services profession
  • Current AEMT/Medic license and certification with the State of Utah
  • Current endorsement as an EMS instructor
  • Registered Course Coordinator with the Office of Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness preferred
  • Two year's industry experience in area of expertise
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Degree in related field preferred
  • Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution preferred
  • Experience in career and technical education preferred
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, professional, and organizational skills
