Job Description:

Reviews patient records to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation. Verifies that patient records meet established criteria and standards. Quantifies findings and authors reports for established committees. Attends clinical staff meetings as requested. Follows chain of command to resolve barriers and maintains reports summarizing key issues. Analyzes data for trends and patterns to improve patient care and compliance. Intervenes with clinical staff to meet compliance requirements. Completes interrater reliability validation when applicable. Collaborates with nursing and medical staff to resolve identified issues. Submits required EMSTARS/NEMSIS data within defined timeframes. Performs regulatory agency data abstraction using concurrent and retrospective methods. Participates in focused studies, data collection, and analysis.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to review medical records and abstract information accurately. [Required]
  • Ability to collaborate and facilitate improvement. [Required]
  • Ability to apply performance improvement methodologies. [Required]
  • Working knowledge and experience in Cerner applications preferred [Preferred]
  • Zoll CAD system experience. [Preferred]
  • EMSTARS experience [Preferred]
  • NEMSIS experience [Preferred]

Education:

  • Bachelor's in a related field [Required]
  • Master's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

  • N/A

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years EMS experience upon hire [Required]

Additional Information:

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS [Required] OR
  • AVADE (AVADE [Required]
  • Licensed Paramedic (PARA [Preferred] OR
  • Registered Nurse (RN [Preferred]
