Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
AMBULANCE SERVICE ONLY
Manages emergency services transport activities and resources.
Responsibilities
- Develops specific departmental goals, standards and objectives.
- Assesses quality of patient care and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Develops specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations.
- Represents Carondelet Healthcare in the EMS community, functioning as a positive and supportive role model in the pre-hospital environment. Markets St. Mary's and St. Joseph's Hospitals' services to EMS units. Responsible for EMS outreach, planning and marketing for CHN's emergency services through ongoing interface and frequent communication with EMS provider sources, physicians, associates, and management.
- Conducts initial and ongoing analysis of EMS providers within Tucson and Southern Arizona. Conducts presentations and makes in-person contacts to all current EMS providers and potential providers introducing or reviewing benefits, availability and quality of emergency services. Conducts presentations regarding clinical issues for EMS providers. Manages outreach plan, strategies and objectives for current and potential EMS providers. Effectively organizes resources to meet goals. Obtains and analyzes EMS data in a timely and accurate manner. Creates, maintains, and evaluates EMS prospect list. Researches and analyzes competitor profiles and makes changes in marketing strategies to ensure we are providing the best quality program possible.
- Acts as liaison for customer service issues that arise within client base. Develops, negotiates and manages base hospital contracts in collaboration with legal department. Manage EMS requests for access to hospital's electronic health records and other applications as appropriate. Prepares and supplies data to various hospital departments.
- Supports the Strategic Planning Process and provides information objectives. Participates in quality improvement measures within the department. Provides assistance with special events and/or projects
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Experience: Three (3) years of recent clinical experience in Emergency nursing or Critical Care.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Marketing, Business or Management.
Certifications: Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days. BLS, CPR, ACLS, and PALS - Provider, Instructor. Must have completed courses in Trauma patient management (TNCC, ATLS).
Preferred Requirements
Experience: Teaching experience involving pre-hospital personnel and nurses or physicians.
Education: CQI Process related health care standards.
