Description
Lee County Public Safety is looking for a dedicated Training and Education Specialist to join our EMS team. This role is perfect for someone with experience in emergency medical services, paramedic education, or clinical training. Candidates with a background in hands-on instruction, curriculum development, simulation work, or EMS field operations are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold an active Florida Paramedic or RN license.
In this position, you will help plan, develop, and deliver high-quality education for Paramedic students and prehospital providers. You will support key training programs such as paramedic school, quarterly in-service sessions, new employee onboarding, and simulation lab operations. This role involves creating curriculum, teaching hands-on skills, using learning management systems, and working closely with instructors and training officers to ensure all learning activities meet County and State standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Training & Curriculum Development
Create and update paramedic-level educational content and coursework
Build lesson plans, skills checklists, training materials, and practical scenarios
Deliver instruction in the classroom, simulation lab, and hands-on training sessions
Teach AHA courses such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Provide NAEMT or EVOC instruction when assigned
Use learning management software to post content, track student progress, and document performance
Instruction & Program Support
Support paramedic school instruction and skill development
Assist with quarterly in-service training for EMS staff
Help onboard new employees and guide them through required education
Operate and maintain the simulation lab and related equipment
Work with assistant instructors, EMS instructors, and field training officers to ensure training sessions are organized and well-supported
Logistics & Coordination
Prepare training spaces, simulation rooms, and equipment
Ensure course materials, supplies, and technology are ready for each event
Maintain accurate training records and documentation
Support special training projects as needed
