Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (40 hours)
A Day in the Life of an Employment Specialist:
As a full-time Employment Specialist, you will positively impact lives by assisting individuals to prepare for, obtain, and maintain competitive, integrated, community-based employment, all while focusing on their person-centered goals.
- Assist employers by providing training techniques and strategies to mitigate the individuals barriers to employment
- Complete pre-employment screening
- Maintain appropriate levels of communication with the individual, referring agent, staff and others
- Coordinate transportation services
- Provide crisis intervention, support and one-to-one instructions
- Complete paperwork like daily attendance record, payroll, billing documents and termination reports, etc.
- Maintain a case load which includes, but not limited to, individuals that have been referred by Acces-VR for Supported Employment Services
- Facilitate job readiness classes
Who We Are Looking For:
- Master's Degree with one year of experience in employment services or a Bachelor's Degree with three years of experience in employment services
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Must possess a current, valid New York State Driver's License that meets Agency Driver standards.
