Position Goal
Under the direct guidance of the Infection Prevention/Employee Health Nurse, the Employee Health Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating employee health assessments, coordinating activities regarding administration and documentation of COVID-19, and flu vaccinations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Completes Employee Health visits per organization policy and department protocols
- Provides safe, competent and efficient nursing care for minor and acute injuries and illnesses via protocols and medical directives
- Monitors employee work-related illness and injury trends and assesses, develops and implements strategies to prevent work-acquired injury or illness and expedite return to work
- Performs bloodborne pathogen exposure assessment, treatment and follow up
- Participates in preventative screening programs (e.g. TB skin testing, influenza, hepatitis B, MMR, varicella, COVID-19 and other appropriate immunizations) and surveillance programs designed to identify and monitor risks to the employee’s health
- Safely administers and appropriately documents on immunizations and TB skin tests given to employees per protocol
- Perform communicable disease exposure follow-up
- Identifies and refers employees with personal health needs to LIP, when appropriate
- Counseling employees on physical and mental health issues and guiding them toward community resources and/or employee assistance programs
- Demonstrates cost control in all practice activities
- Documents employee visits thoroughly and accurately
- Maintains and ensures confidentiality of employee information and records
- Act as an advocate for the rights of employees by ensuring access to preventative health and safety measures
- Performs post-offer employee health assessments
Experience:
Required:
- 1+ years of varied clinical experience. Experience with a wide range of cultural, age, and educational diversities within a patient population.
Education:
Required:
- Certified Medical Assistant
Preferred:
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program
Special Qualifications:
Required:
- Current BLS certification
- Must have valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
