Position Summary

The Clinical Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients of all ages, utilizing clinical judgment, established standards of care, physician orders, and hospital policies. This role requires the ability to work independently while delivering safe, high-quality patient care and supporting patients and their families throughout the care process.

Required Certifications

The following certifications must be maintained throughout employment:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association (AHA)

Required Within Specified Timeframes

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – within 6 months of hire
• Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Level 5 – within 3 months of hire
• Patient Sitter Competency Training – upon hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – within 1 year of hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) – within 1 year of hire
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – within 1 year of hire
