What Youll Do
- Provide emergency care for a diverse patient population in a rural critical access hospital setting
- Manage patients of all ages, including pediatrics, with limited onsite specialty support
- Document and chart using Epic EMR system
- See approximately 2.5 to 3 patients per hour in a 25-bed ED with an average daily census of 20-24 patients
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Work night shifts to cover ED needs, consistent with hospital scheduling
What You Need
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (required; no internal medicine or family practice)
- MA Medical License and DEA registration
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 1 year emergency medicine experience
- Ability to work independently in a community/rural setting
About the Assignment
This Emergency Department serves a rural community with approximately 20-24 patients daily, including pediatrics, in a 25-bed critical access hospital. The facility has limited on-site specialty support, making this an excellent opportunity for Emergency Medicine physicians experienced in community or rural environments. The hospital will provide housing and cover ferry costs. No travel licensing required beyond Massachusetts.
