What You Need to Apply

  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required

  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license required

  • Role includes operating a UPMC vehicle; MVR check required (violations within 36 months may impact eligibility

  • Program Enrollment: Must pass the FISDAP entrance exam and enroll in:

  • Pennsylvania College of Technology, or

  • Northern Pennsylvania Regional College

  • Certifications (Post-Training:

  • National Registry EMT Certification

  • PA EMT Certification with EMSVO endorsement

  • CPR/BLS, EVDT, PHTLS, Hazmat Awareness, NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800

  • Clearances: Act 33, Act 34, and FBI Act 73 (with renewal.
