Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B)

We are seeking motivated and compassionate EMT-Basics to join our EMS team providing both emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports (IFTs) across South Texas. This role offers structured schedules, modern equipment, and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive clinical environment.

Schedule Options

  • 24/72 schedules

  • 12-hour shifts

  • 13.5-hour shifts

  • Day shifts

  • Night shifts

  • School-friendly schedules (M/W/F or T/Th/S)

  • 2-2-3 schedules

Types of Calls

  • Emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports (IFTs)

  • Skilled nursing facility (SNF) emergencies

  • Hospital discharges and facility transfers

  • Critical care transports (assist role as applicable)

Equipment & Technology

  • Stryker PowerPro XT stretchers

  • LIFEPAK 15 monitors

  • Sapphire IV pumps

  • Ventec VOCSN ventilators

  • Vapotherm high-flow oxygen therapy systems

  • Video laryngoscopy systems

  • iGel supraglottic airways

Fleet

  • Ford Transit ambulances

  • Dodge ProMaster ambulances

  • Type III ambulances with power-load systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide basic emergency medical care and first aid within EMT-B scope of practice

  • Safely operate ambulances in emergency and non-emergency conditions

  • Assist paramedics and healthcare providers during patient care and transport

  • Perform patient assessment and report findings accurately

  • Safely move, immobilize, and transport patients

  • Maintain accurate ePCR documentation

  • Clean, restock, and disinfect ambulances and equipment after each transport

  • Ensure vehicle readiness and report maintenance or equipment issues

  • Follow all EMS protocols, safety standards, and clinical guidelines

  • Participate in ongoing training and skills development

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Current Texas EMT certification

  • Current BLS certification

  • Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 150 lbs (up to 300 lbs with assistance)

  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing

  • Ability to work in high-stress environments including loud noises, low light, extreme weather, and confined spaces

Compensation

  • $17.00 - $21.50 per hour

  • Expected 36-48 hours per week
