Summary of Job Details
The Emergency Manager & Mission Continuity is responsible for the overall management of the Emergency Management and Mission Continuity Programs and reports to the Executive Director of Environmental Health & Safety, Risk and Emergency Services. The Emergency Manager oversees the development and implementation of emergency management and mission continuity procedures for the campus. This is accomplished through the development, implementation, and monitoring of prevention and control strategies and initiatives, as well as by establishing collaborative partnerships with campus units and departments. The Emergency Manager & Mission Continuity plans, implements, and coordinates the development and readiness of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). They design, plan, and conduct regular emergency management exercises for senior leaders, campus management, and departments. The position also manages the Mission Continuity Program ensuring an effective and thorough response, recovery, and resumption of campus operations. The Emergency Manager & Mission Continuity serves as the UCSB representative to the County of Santa Barbara's Emergency Operations Center during emergencies and reports to campus leadership during activations as needed. The role maintains relationships and partnerships with city, county, and state public and private agencies responsible for emergency planning and response. Additionally, the position supports the University of California systemwide continuity planning efforts, works closely with UC emergency managers, and prepares campus units to serve as emergency support functions addressing all aspects of campus emergency operations. The position also coordinates and supports after-action review following major emergencies.
Required Qualifications
• Master's Degree in a related area OR equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
• 4-6 years Experience in a related area.
Special Conditions of Employment
• Required to hold a valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies and procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
• Satisfactory criminal history background check
• UCSB is a Tobacco Free Environment.
Hiring/Budgeted Salary: $130,000 to $150,000/yr.
Full Salary Range: $108,100 to $204,900/yr.
Working Days and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a-5p
