The principal functions of this class are to provide a variety of analytical and administrative work in further developing the Emergency Management Regional Planning program; and to assist the local jurisdictions in the management of disasters and major emergencies within the boundaries of Berkely, Charleston and Dorchester Counties

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in public/business administration or emergency services/management is required.
Requires at least two (2) years of related work experience.
Special Qualifications:
Must possess valid state drivers license.
Must complete minimal National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses within six months of hire date.
Complete additional specialized training as required by the Department Head.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employees must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Employees must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays during emergencies or as
requested.
