Location: Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center, 1000 Medical Center Dr., Hardeeville, South Carolina 29927 

Shift: Days, 7am-7pm

Status: Full Time 

 

Our Emergency Department is a 16-bed unit that specializes in providing immediate medical care for patients with severe or urgent illnesses or injuries. It is equipped to handle a wide range of services, including initial assessment, treatment, stabilization, emergencies, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions and potentially admission to the hospital.

 

  • Treats all types of emergent needs 

  • Coordinates with other specialties 

  • Ability to have autonomy on unit 

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: 1 year of Nurse Aide experience. Experience in basic patient care, phlebotomy, EKG in an emergency or outpatient setting highly desirable, preferred. 
  • Licensure/Certification: Nurse Aide I, required. American Heart Association BLS required. Some departments have additional advanced CPR requirements as listed on staff annual education record, required. Phlebotomy Certification, required. 
  • Additional Skills (required): Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of medical terminology.
What You'll Do:
  • Obtain and record vital signs and report abnormal findings. 

  • Monitor patient status and cardiac rhythms, alerting RNs to any acute changes in condition. 

  • Stock and organize trauma bays and exam rooms with essential medical supplies. 

  • A variety of basic patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. 

  • Responsible for completing a variety of department specific tasks to assist with optimal department safety and functioning
