As an Emergency Department Technician / Unit Clerk, youll play a vital role on the front lines of care, supporting patients, families, nurses, and providers in our 24â€'hour Emergency Department. About This Role The Emergency Department Technician/Unit Clerk (EDT/Clerk) is a key member of the Emergency Department care team, providing both hands-on patient care and essential clerical support. Working under the direction of nursing staff, youll help deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a fastâ€'paced critical access hospital environment. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive on teamwork, multitasking, and meaningful patient interaction. Key Responsibilities Provide direct clinical support to Emergency Department patients, including vital signs, monitoring, pointâ€'ofâ€'care testing, EKGs, mobility assistance, and patient safety observation Perform essential unit clerk functions such as order transcription, documentation in the EMR, managing patient records, and facilitating communication across the care team Support efficient Emergency Department operations by preparing patient rooms, maintaining supplies and equipment, and adhering to infection prevention and safety standards Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure timely, compassionate, and coordinated emergency care Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Current EMT or LNA licensure required A current BLS from the American Heart Association is required.
