Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
Location: Lincoln, Maine
Job Type: 13-Week Contract Assignment
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 Hours/Week
About the Opportunity
A respected healthcare facility in Maine is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week contract assignment. This role involves delivering high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes and safe clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including admission, ongoing, and discharge evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on physician orders and patient needs
- Administer medications safely and accurately while monitoring patient responses
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with charge capture as required
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams during bedside rounds and care planning
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and staff
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and hospital emergency response efforts
- Support quality improvement initiatives and process enhancement programs
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Required Qualifications
- Active Maine RN license or Compact RN license
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong emergency nursing assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency care environment
- Physical ability to perform essential job duties, including standing, walking, lifting, and patient transport assistance
