Payrate: $61.00- $62.00/hr.
 
Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of autonomous and remote-control software systems for Large Track Type Tractors (LTTT). This role will focus on developing application-level C++ software for autonomy and Command for Dozing (remote control) systems, addressing field issues, implementing new features, and supporting ongoing product releases.
 
Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain application-level software using C++ for remote-control and autonomous machine systems.
• Support ongoing maintenance activities, field issue resolution, software enhancements, and new feature development.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and software teams to implement and validate autonomy and automation capabilities.
• Perform software integration, debugging, and troubleshooting across complex machine systems.
• Develop and execute unit tests and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing activities.
• Analyze and diagnose communication issues using CAN and Ethernet diagnostic tools.
• Participate in software release activities and continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with the Domain Architect and Technology Project Manager to deliver project objectives and software milestones.
• Support testing activities at proving grounds when required.
• Contribute to software quality, reliability, and performance improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ software development.
• Experience developing software for automation, robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded applications.
• Experience with unit testing and software validation methodologies.
• Understanding of Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing environments.
• Familiarity with CAN communication tools such as CANalyzer or CANape.
• Experience using network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.

• Experience with construction, agricultural, mining, or heavy equipment systems.
• Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, machine automation, or advanced control systems.
• Experience working with safety-critical or real-time software applications.
• Advanced degree or relevant research experience in robotics, automation, or autonomous systems.
   

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $61.00- $62.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
