    POSITION:

    Livonia Public Schools is seeking highly qualified Elementary Student Assistance Providers (ESAP) who are responsible for a variety of duties in supporting student behavior, social/emotional and health-related needs in order to support student success. The ESAP will help students work through problems that impede learning. The ESAP will utilize a comprehensive, systematic support system for all students, with an emphasis on prevention and intervention. The ESAP will develop and nurture a strong school-home connection to further support the needs of the students.

    DISTRICT OVERVIEW:

    Livonia Public Schools employs approximately 1,800 staff members, serving approximately 13,100 students pre-K post secondary. There are 15 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 career technical center, 1 early childhood center and 1 vocational and transition center in the School District. The annual budget for Livonia Public Schools is $180 million, with a state funding of $10,000 per pupil.

The pension component guarantees you monthly retirement benefit payments over your lifetime once you meet age and service requirements. Additionally, as a new public-school employee, you will be automatically enrolled in a Personal Healthcare Fund (PHF), which is a portable, tax-deferred investment account that can be used to pay for healthcare expenses in retirement. Livonia Public Schools will contribute a dollar-for-dollar match on the first 2% you contribute.

    Additionally, the children of employees working 20+ hours, living outside the district's attendance boundaries, are eligible to attend Livonia Public Schools via schools of choice.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    The following is a list of minimum qualifications for this position, any one of which may be waived by the Administration in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.

    • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
    • Elementary teacher certification
    • Evidence of successful experience working with elementary school aged students is preferred
    • Successful experience working collaboratively with others
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Has demonstrated successful experience in providing research-based interventions in the affective and academic domains for struggling students
    • A passionate commitment to improving learning for all students
    • Demonstrated positive interpersonal relationships

    MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Exhibits a commitment to the District's Shared Vision and Collective Commitments
    • Creates a welcoming and positive climate and culture
    • Takes the lead on 504 and Health Care Plans.
    • Provides behavioral, health, social-emotional support, and interventions for students in order to support their affective and academic success
    • Operates within the context of the total school environment providing intervention, prevention and consultation services; including appropriate materials and resource to teachers and families
    • Monitors student academic and behavioral progress in collaboration with school staff
    • Contributes to positive home/school relationships by serving as a resource to teachers, students and parents
    • Actively participates in or leads teams established to review individual student performance and behavior
    • Plans, coordinates and implements student intervention services in conjunction with classroom teacher(s) and school administration
    • Contributes to initial "problem identification" or the likely nature of a student, classroom, or school problem in order to help develop intervention efforts as part of a problem-solving team
    • Works with school team to implement trauma-informed approaches to address preventative and responsive measures for students
    • Serves as a resource regarding abuse and addiction including fostering connections with outside agencies and programs
    • Provides support with the implementation and data analysis of universal screeners, student assessments and progress monitoring data
    • Works collaboratively with Student Services support staff to provide appropriate interventions and data collection of student achievement and behavior
    • Collects and analyzes data based on student performance and plans interventions for struggling students
    • Attends professional training sessions on identified topics to be used with students
    • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    The work year, salary, and fringe benefits will be consistent with the current agreement between the Board of Education and the Livonia Education Association. This position will remain open minimally through July 30, 2026 for consideration of employment for the 26-27 school year.
