GENERAL DUTIES: Exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and compassionate school counselor to join the Region 14 community at Bethlehem Elementary School. The successful candidate will foster an engaging, inclusive, and welcoming school environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional growth while further cultivating a positive school climate. Region 14 counselors are leaders in their fields who skillfully meet the diverse needs of learners through CT Student Standards-aligned instruction and support grounded in the practices and strategies of the CT Comprehensive School Counseling Framework and the expectations of the CT School Counselor Professional Standards. The BES School Counselor will collaborate with counseling colleagues across the district to ensure horizontal and vertical alignment and continuity of student experiences from PreK-12th grade. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to researching, implementing, and refining effective, dynamic, and developmentally appropriate counseling and instructional strategies. Through classroom lessons utilizing the RULER program, individual meetings with students, and small groups, the school counselor fosters perseverance, communication, empathy, and habits of mind that prepare students for success both in and beyond the classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS: Connecticut Certification Endorsement for School Counseling (068) required
