GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):

The tutor administers screening and diagnostic assessments, and with the support of the reading specialist, analyzes the data to develop data-driven literacy intervention instructional plans. Under the supervision of the reading specialist, the tutor provides literacy intervention to small groups of students and monitors student progress.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Holds an appropriate DESE educator license
• Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to use technology effectively

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

• Participates in the administration of, scoring of, and analysis of universal screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring assessments
• Participates in team data meetings
• In collaboration with reading specialist, develops data-driven intervention plans and focused instruction
• Delivers intervention instruction to students in small groups and occasionally as 1:1
• In collaboration with reading specialist, shares student progress data with classroom teachers
• Regular and on time attendance is required for support of students.
• Other duties as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Environment: Operates in a school setting supporting student needs.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to successfully navigate a large school building.
