Job Description:

The School District of Milton is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Elementary General Music Teacher at Northside Intermediate and West Elementary.

In this role, the teacher will have the opportunity to join a dynamic music program with a very strong tradition. Come join our team in educating and guiding our students to success in the future! This position begins in August 19, 2026, and offers an exciting opportunity to join our team in shaping the future success of our students. We provide a competitive starting salary of $52,400 for a 190-day contract, available to candidates with a Bachelor's degree. Additional compensation is available for those with prior public education teaching experience and further education beyond a bachelor's degree. Qualifications:

The School District of Milton is seeking dedicated and collaborative educators who are passionate about engaging students in the learning process. The ideal candidate will have a substantial knowledge of general and instrumental music, as well as music theory. Candidates should be organized, flexible, have strong communication skills, be able to work in a collaborative environment, have a solid background in technology and strong classroom management skills. The successful candidate will be able to inspire students through demonstrated vocal music expertise to be more passionate about their musical talents as well as have a thorough understanding of the Wisconsin State Music Standards and how they align to curriculum. The successful candidate will understand the value of working with students both inside and outside of the classroom. Excellent piano and music arranging skills are a plus.

Applicants must hold or be eligible for WI DPI Certification in General Music - 1515 and have the appropriate position codes for kindergarten through sixth grade students.

It is preferred that candidates also have Instrumental Music - 1506, but not required.
