The primary purpose of this role is to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program at the assigned campus. The counselor will support students' academic, personal, and social growth, including those from special populations.
Qualifications include a Master's degree from an accredited institution, a valid Texas school counselor certificate, and skills in counseling procedures, student appraisal, and effective communication. The role involves guiding students individually and in groups, collaborating with staff and families, interpreting assessment data, and advocating for a positive, diverse school environment.
Responsibilities encompass delivering guidance lessons, providing counseling and crisis support, coordinating resources, managing program components, and ensuring compliance with legal and district policies. Supervisory duties include overseeing counseling aides and clerical staff. The position requires physical stamina for classroom activities and work environment adaptability. It is an 11-month contract.
