ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and/or review individual educational plans (IEPs) and participate fully in IEP team meetings.
- Use assessment data to plan and implement appropriate instructional strategies in accordance with the approved curriculum and students IEPs
- Provides individualized and small-group instruction
- Assist individual students with self-care, hygiene, and daily living activities
- Establish a structured classroom along with student and staff individualized schedules
- Plan for, coach, and collaborate with instructional assistants
- Evaluate and maintain accurate records as required by administration and Article 7, including student IEP progress monitoring, academic and social growth, incident reports, attendance, etc.
- Implement strategies to keep students and parents informed of academic and behavioral performance, respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Develop, plan, and implement Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans as indicated by student performance, including interventions for crisis situations
- May have to lift and/or push/pull students and/or monitor students general health needs
- Facilitates and coordinates students participation in general education classes, where appropriate.
- Has knowledge of corporation and school policies and special education regulations
- Handles the clerical functions and complies with district, IEP, and evaluation timelines
- Actively participate on building level multidisciplinary teams
- Maintains satisfactory attendance
- Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook
- Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
