Position: Electrophysiology (EP) Technician
Location: Cardiology Clinic, Winston-Salem NC
Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm
Are you passionate about advancing heart health through cutting-edge technology? Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Electrophysiology (EP) Technician to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in a collaborative environment, directly impacting patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced analysis of pacemaker, defibrillator (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization (CRT) devices.
- Ability to perform safe, efficient programming of pacemakers, ICD’s and CRT devices.
- Communicate and document appropriately any device dysfunction in a timely or urgent manner, as the case may be require.
- Follow up each incident to make sure it is addressed by a provider in an appropriate time frame.
- Process and analyze web-based device checks (primary responsibility) and pacemaker telephone device checks (back up responsibility) in accordance with NHHVI policies.
- Maintain device data bases (Pacemaker, Carelink, Merlin, Latitude and others).
- Instruct patients and provide tech support related to remote device follow up. Maintain supplies in the work area and keep waste of supplies to a minimum. Act as a preceptor for newly hired staff.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology program or equivalent exp.
- One year experience working in a cardiac office or hospital setting, Required.
- Certification in electrophysiology or related field preferred.
- CCT or CRAT obtained in 1 yr of start date, Required.
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year of experience working in a cardiac office or hospital setting, required.
- Licensure/Certification: CCT, CRAT or CCDS required within 1 year of start date, required.
- Additional Skills (required): Basic knowledge of pacemaker/defibrillator function. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to cardiology. Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets.
- Additional Skills (preferred): International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners Cardiac Device Certification preferred, strongly encouraged. Basic knowledge of holter/event recorders. Electronic medical records experience, particularly with EPIC.
