Electronics Technician
Location: Malta, NY

A growing technology company focused on advancing next-generation power systems is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join its R&D team in Malta, NY. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced engineering environment, supporting prototype development, troubleshooting complex electrical systems, and collaborating closely with engineers to bring innovative technologies to life.
The Electronics Technician will support the assembly, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced electrical systems, including power electronics, instrumentation, motors, generators, and prototype equipment.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Perform soldering, PCB rework, and modifications on power electronics and instrumentation circuit boards
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair cables and wire harnesses
• Build, test, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components for prototype development
• Conduct testing and monitoring of motors, generators, and other prototype systems
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve designs
• Maintain soldering stations, test equipment, and power electronics laboratory areas
• Assist with installation and setup of new equipment
• Operate laboratory equipment, instrumentation, computers, and electrical test systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with laboratory equipment and facilities
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and monitoring of equipment

• Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
• 5+ years of experience working with electronics, electrical systems, or laboratory/prototype environments
• Experience working with industrial voltage electrical equipment and motors
• Experience assembling, modifying, repairing, and testing surface mount PCBs
• Ability to independently operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues
• Experience maintaining laboratory equipment and test systems
• Ability to pass a preemployment screening

 
Salary: $32-$35 an hour based on experience
Shift: 1^st (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM) (1-hour unpaid lunch)
