Position Summary
This role includes direct oversight of electronics manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, programming, and packaging of electronic locking products and subassemblies. The Production Supervisor ensures electronics production meets quality, safety, delivery, and cost targets while supporting new product introductions and continuous process improvement within electronics operations.
 
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who excels at coaching and mentoring teams, analyzing production processes, and optimizing workflows to eliminate non–value-added activities. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential for success in this role.
 
Essential Functions
Supervisory Responsibilities
•Supervise daily electronics production operations, including PCB assembly, wiring, device assembly, functional testing, and programming where applicable.
•Ensure compliance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls and proper handling of electronic components.
•Support electronics training and skill development for associates, including proper use of test equipment and work instructions.
•Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to resolve electronics-related production issues, nonconformances, and process changes.
•Enforce strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures. 
•Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of production equipment. 
•Supervise and evaluate associates’ performance, including attendance, teamwork, productivity, and quality. 
•Maintain and manage the cross-training matrix. 
•Assist the Plant Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting Production Associates. 
•Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including hour-by-hour production metrics and fill rates. 
•Schedule and adjust staffing levels to meet production goals. 
•Conduct timely, fair, and constructive performance evaluations. 
•Administer discipline in accordance with company policies and in coordination with management. 
•Promote a continuous improvement culture where associates are encouraged to submit ideas and suggestions.
 
Essential Job Duties
•Oversee electronics assembly and testing processes to ensure products meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
•Ensure accurate execution of work instructions, bills of materials (BOMs), and routing steps for electronic assemblies.
•Identify and troubleshoot electronics production issues related to components, workmanship, test failures, or process variation.
•Support new electronics product introductions (NPI) by assisting with line readiness, staffing, training, and process validation.
•Work closely with Engineering and Quality to implement process improvements, corrective actions, and design updates impacting electronics manufacturing.
•Open and prepare the facility for daily operations. 
•Maintain and communicate updates related to open production orders. 
•Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. 
•Plan labor requirements, optimize workflow, and actively support production as needed. 
•Track, analyze, and communicate KPIs to the production team and management. 
•Collaborate cross-functionally with Warehouse, Purchasing, Quality Control, Customer Service, Engineering, and Finance to support organizational objectives. 
•Coach and develop employees and complete annual performance reviews. 
•Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
 
Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
•Minimum of two (2) years of related manufacturing or supervisory experience required; additional leadership experience strongly preferred.
•Prior experience supervising or supporting electronics manufacturing, electronic assembly, or electro-mechanical production environments strongly preferred.
•Working knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes such as PCB assembly, soldering, wiring, and electro-mechanical assembly.
•Basic understanding of electronic components and assemblies, including sensors, controllers, and electromechanical devices.
•Familiarity with ESD control requirements and electronics handling best practices.
•Ability to interpret electronics-related work instructions, schematics, and assembly documentation.
•Experience using or supporting functional test equipment and troubleshooting basic electronics issues.
•Ability to adapt to changing priorities and customer demands.

Work Environment
•Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday.  Occasional overtime may be required depending on order demand. 
•Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and sit for extended periods. 
•Ability to lift 60 pounds or more on an occasional basis using safe lifting practices. 
•Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as required. 
•Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with concrete flooring and varying temperatures. 
•Wear proper PPE as required.
