Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electronic Technician 3 to support its Avionics Lab team. This role involves hands-on work with advanced electronic systems, including testing, assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission-critical avionics equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, reliable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electronic systems, components, and equipment
- Diagnose and repair circuit boards, wiring, and electronic assemblies at the component level
- Perform environmental and operational testing (ESS, vibration, thermal) to ensure compliance
- Identify and isolate malfunctions and implement corrective actions
- Conduct engineering tests and collect/report data accurately
- Document test results, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Perform complex IPC Class circuit card surface mount rework and self-inspection of solder quality
- Ensure compliance with FOE/FOD, ESD, and quality/safety standards
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of related experience OR
- Equivalent training from a technical trade school or military electronics program (4 years)
- Experience supporting AS9100 compliance and audits
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with surface mount soldering, digital/analog circuits, or embedded electronics
- Strong component-level troubleshooting expertise
- Certifications such as:
- IPC-A-610 Class III (Surface Mount)
- IPC J-STD-001 (Space)
- IPC-WHMA-620 (Space)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Certified IPC Trainer (CIT)
