Location: Peoria, IL (Onsite / Lab + Office)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

 

Job Responsibilities

Role Overview
We are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join our MPCS development team. You will support the design, testing, and troubleshooting of power electronics hardware used in utility-scale energy storage and power conversion systems.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware Design (35%): Design and debug Gate Driver Boards (GDB), Power Boards, and protection circuits for IGBT and SiC devices.
Testing & Validation (25%): Perform Double Pulse Testing (DPT), switching characterization, and thermal testing in the lab.
Root Cause Analysis (15%): Troubleshoot hardware failures on inverters and power modules.
Collaboration & Documentation (25%): Review schematics/PCB layouts (Altium), document releases, and collaborate with controls, validation, and manufacturing teams.
Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

BS + 5 years, OR MS + 3 years, OR AS + 10+ years (Internships accepted).
Core Technical Skills:

Hands-on Gate Driver Board (GDB) design & protection circuit validation (IGBT / SiC).
Double Pulse Testing (DPT) and bench testing equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal cameras).
ECAD tools (Altium Designer) and simulation software (PLECS, LTspice, or MATLAB/Simulink).
