We are seeking an experienced Senior EDI Business Analyst with deep expertise in Retail EDI Integrations, ANSI X12 transactions, Order-to-Cash (O2C) business processes, remittance processing, and IBM webMethods integration environments. This role combines Business Analysis and EDI functional expertise, requiring the ability to independently lead EDI initiatives, collaborate with business stakeholders, ERP teams, IBM webMethods developers, and major retail trading partners such as Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Costco, and other large retailers.

The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end EDI implementations including requirements gathering, trading partner onboarding, mapping validation, SIT/UAT coordination, production support, and continuous process improvements across the retail order lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

  • Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and EDI requirements.
  • Conduct workshops with business users, ERP teams, and retail partners.
  • Perform gap analysis between existing ERP capabilities and retailer EDI specifications.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and EDI mapping requirements.
  • Create business process flows, use cases, functional documentation, and acceptance criteria.

Retail EDI Integrations

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of retail EDI integrations.
  • Coordinate onboarding and certification with major retail trading partners.
  • Review retailer implementation guides and compliance requirements.
  • Support retailer testing, certification, production cutover, and post-production support.
  • Ensure compliance with retailer-specific EDI standards and vendor scorecard requirements.

Order-to-Cash (O2C)

  • Support complete Order-to-Cash business processes including:
    • Customer Orders
    • Order Management
    • Inventory Allocation
    • Shipping
    • Advance Ship Notices
    • Invoicing
    • Customer Payments
    • Cash Application
    • Remittance Processing
    • Deductions & Chargebacks
    • Reconciliation

EDI Transaction Management

Support implementation and troubleshooting of ANSI X12 transactions including:

  • 850 Purchase Order
  • 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgement
  • 856 / 857 Advance Ship Notice (ASN)
  • 810 Invoice
  • 820 Remittance Advice
  • 997 Functional Acknowledgement
  • 824 Application Advice (Preferred)

IBM webMethods Collaboration

  • Partner with IBM webMethods development teams.
  • Review mapping specifications and transformation logic.
  • Validate integration flows and business rules.
  • Support EDI mapping reviews and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate end-to-end transaction monitoring.

Testing & Validation

  • Define SIT and UAT strategies.
  • Prepare functional test cases and business scenarios.
  • Coordinate testing across ERP, middleware, and retailer systems.
  • Validate inbound and outbound EDI transactions.
  • Lead defect triage and business sign-off activities.

Production Support

  • Investigate and resolve production EDI issues.
  • Analyse failed transactions and mapping errors.
  • Resolve ASN failures, invoice exceptions, remittance mismatches, and ERP integration issues.
  • Support deployment activities and post-production validation.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive improvements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the liaison between:
    • Business Teams
    • ERP Teams
    • IBM webMethods Developers
    • Finance
    • Supply Chain
    • Customer Service
    • External Trading Partners
  • Drive meetings, status updates, and issue resolution across multiple teams.

Experience Requirements

  • 8 10+ years of experience in EDI, Business Analysis, or Retail Integrations.
  • Strong expertise in ANSI X12 retail EDI transactions.
  • Experience supporting high-volume retail trading partners such as Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon, Target, or Costco.
  • Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash business processes.
  • Experience working with IBM webMethods integration environments.
  • Experience collaborating with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Client Dynamics 365, JD Edwards, or Infor.
  • Experience leading EDI implementations, onboarding, testing, and production support.
  • Strong knowledge of retailer compliance, ASN validation, deductions, chargebacks, and remittance processing.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
