Volt is immediately hiring an Engineering Technician in WILMINGTON MAAs an Engineering Technician you willAssemble precision optical mechanical and electromechanical components in a clean room and lab environment supporting development and production programs while meeting quality schedule and cost goals.Key Responsibilities Assemble complex optical mechanical and electromechanical hardware in Class 100 ISO 5 clean room and nonclean room labs. Perform highprecision assembly bonding and modification of components with micronlevel tolerances. Conduct lapping operations to achieve flatness parallelism and angular accuracy. Read and interpret manufacturing instructions drawings blueprints and CAD models. Troubleshoot assemblyrelated issues and implement effective corrective actions. Maintain component traceability throughout the assembly process. Safely handle sensitive optical components such as lenses and mirrors. Collaborate with engineering and crossfunctional teams recommending process or design improvements. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors defects scrap and rework. Support engineering documentation and assist with new tasks during downtime. Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. 12month contract opportunityQualifications High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience or Associate degree postsecondary education with 2 years of related experience.Preferred Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing GD&T. Experience working in a Class 100 ISO 5 clean room. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint. Strong ability to read drawings and schematics per industry standards. Excellent handson assembly and troubleshooting skills.
