Electro-Mechanical Systems Technician (Manufacturing)

Contract: Open ended | Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan
Pay:$29.00 per hour ($34.00 per hour Journeyman/Licensed)

Shifts

  • First Shift: 6:00am - 2:00pm Monday-Friday, weekends and OT mandatory as scheduled
  • Second Shift 2:00pm - 10:00pm Monday-Friday, weekends and OT mandatory as scheduled

What you’ll do

  • Restore and maintain manufacturing tools, machinery, and facility systems
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation issues
  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance to support uptime
  • Service assembly automation systems and production tooling
  • Troubleshoot electrical controls, motor controls, drives/VFDs, relays, contactors, and sensors
  • Handle light fabrication and MIG welding as needed
  • Apply Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) rigorously and promote safe work practices
  • Assist with installs, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Track work orders and PM tasks; report repair status clearly

What you bring

  • Strong mechanical aptitude + proven electrical troubleshooting in a light industrial setting
  • Experience with:
    • Equipment and assembly automation repair
    • Electrical and pneumatic systems repair
    • Light fabrication and MIG welding
    • Manufacturing production tool repair
    • Electrical controls troubleshooting
    • Motor controls and drives including VFDs and servo systems
  • Understanding of LOTO and core industrial safety
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

Nice to have

  • Allen Bradley PLCs and Logix 5000 programming exposure
  • Fanuc robot troubleshooting/teaching
  • AGV maintenance
  • OEM or Tier One manufacturing experience
  • Fastening systems and torque-controlled screw guns
