Electro-Mechanical Reliability Technician — Direct Hire (Grand Rapids, MI)

Pro Services, Inc. is partnering with a leading global manufacturer with 130+ years of success to hire a direct-hire technician for their Grand Rapids plant. This is a stable, career-building role where hands-on work, mentorship, and continuous improvement are part of the everyday routine.
A Night in the Role
- Keep production assets running through mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and precision repairs.
- Diagnose and fix pumps, HVAC equipment, boilers, chillers, and a wide range of production machinery.
- Execute preventive maintenance with a CMMS to shrink unplanned downtime and boost reliability.
- Assist with installing and commissioning new equipment within your capabilities.
- Document work clearly and completely for traceability and knowledge sharing.
- Work safely every time, including strict lockout/tagout adherence.
- Partner with teammates and leaders to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
- Operate forklifts and aerial lifts when needed.
Schedule & Training
- 3rd Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- 2-2-3 rotating schedule (built-in overtime opportunities)
- Initial training on 1st shift for approximately 4–6 months
What You Bring
- 5+ years of maintenance experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
- 3+ years of electrical experience.
- Background working with pumps and industrial systems.
- Comfort with CMMS-driven preventive maintenance programs.
- Team-first mindset, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
Bonus Points
- Pipefitting, machining, or metal fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of boilers, chillers, compressors, and process controls.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and pneumatic systems.
- Refrigeration certification.
Physical & Work Environment
- Lift up to 50 lbs. independently (100+ lbs. with assistance).
- Comfort working at heights, on ladders, and around industrial equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
- Industrial setting with proper PPE and rigorous safety standards.
