Independent Lighting & Electrical, locally owned and operated in Virginia Beach, VA with over 30 years of history, is looking for experienced electricians to join our growing team.

Electrician – Full-time

Electrician Responsibilities and Duties:

Commercial ground up electrical buildouts, and installation, retrofit, and troubleshooting of commercial indoor and outdoor lighting systems

Execute plans of electrical wiring for lighting and other electrical systems
Install distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breakers, panels etc.)
Proficiently install electrical circuits and network cables, and ensure compatibility of components
Install and support conduits, pull wire, terminate equipment and devices
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and the cause, replace damaged parts
Supervise or lead a crew when necessary

Electrician Qualifications and Skills:

Proven journeymen level experience as an electrician
Experience in commercial electrical systems and lighting
Demonstrate ability to use electrical meters and hand and read electrical drawings and blueprints
Thorough knowledge of lock out-tag out safety procedures, regulations, and NEC codes
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability - troubleshooting
Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work full shifts
Valid driver’s license with a good record
Ability to work on ladders, aerial lifts, bucket trucks, and lift 50 lbs.
Journeyman or Master license preferred
