This role as Electrical Test Engineer offers the opportunity to design, execute, and improve electrical test solutions for advanced electro‑mechanical products used in mission‑critical applications. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet stringent performance, quality, and compliance standards.

Client Details

My client is a well‑established engineering and manufacturing organization specializing in high‑performance electrical and electro‑mechanical products. Known for operating in highly regulated and technically demanding markets, the business places strong emphasis on quality, precision, and continuous improvement, offering engineers the chance to work on products with real‑world impact and long service lifecycles.

Description

Reporting into the Test Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop, document, and maintain electrical test procedures for production, qualification, and validation activities
  • Design and support test fixtures, test setups, and elements of automated test systems
  • Carry out functional, diagnostic, and environmental testing to verify product performance against specifications
  • Investigate electrical failures and non‑conformances, supporting structured root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Interpret schematics, drawings, and technical requirements to ensure accurate and repeatable testing
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve testability, reliability, and efficiency
  • Analyze test data, identify trends, and produce clear technical reports and recommendations
  • Support new product introduction by defining test strategies and validating designs prior to release
  • Ensure test equipment is maintained and calibrated in line with internal and external standards
  • Assist with quality system documentation and support internal or customer audits when required

Profile

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in electrical test, test engineering, or manufacturing engineering within a regulated environment
  • Strong grounding in electrical principles, circuits, and hands‑on troubleshooting, including insulation and high‑voltage testing
  • Confident using test equipment
  • Able to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Familiar with root cause analysis methodologies and structured problem‑solving techniques
  • Exposure to quality standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 is advantageous
  • Experience with automated test systems, scripting, or tools such as LabVIEW or Python is beneficial
  • Practical mindset with strong documentation, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills

Job Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package aligned to experience
  • A technically engaging role working on high‑reliability, low‑volume products rather than commodity manufacturing
  • Opportunity to influence test strategy and product quality across the full manufacturing lifecycle
  • Exposure to new product introduction and advanced test technologies
  • Supportive engineering culture with strong collaboration across disciplines
  • Long‑term development opportunities within a stable and well‑established organization
