Charles County Government is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician Team Leader to represent, inspire, and empower a team of Electrical Technicians by encouraging them to offer ideas about decisions that affect them, and guide team members to improve work functionality and productivity. Team Leader will perform a wide range of tasks associated with the construction, installation, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, alteration, and replacement of primary and backup electrical assets such as equipment, systems, and structures. This position will address and resolve complex preventive maintenance requirements, corrective maintenance issues, and work requests submitted by departments and agencies in a safe, efficient, and quality manner with a strong focus on customer service and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Essential Job Functions
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED).
Seven years of progressively responsible experience with the construction, installation, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, alteration, and replacement of electrical equipment, systems, and structures.
Completion of Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Program or similar program related to electrical trade is preferred.
Licenses or Certifications:
Valid drivers license.
Masters License issued by Charles County Board of Electrical Examiners and Supervisors is preferred.
Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination conducted by a licensed medical examiner listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry is preferred.
Special Requirements/Qualifications:
Employee will have unrestricted access to county owned, operated, and maintained facilities. Employee is required to execute all duties with ethics and integrity and must take the appropriate measures to safeguard confidential information. Employee may need to attend training specific to a facility or the activities that occur in a facility prior to accessing the facility.
Work is subject to frequent interruptions.
Employee is subject to call back in emergencies.
Employee may be on-call during nonbusiness hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is regularly active with periods of heavy exertion and is performed in shop or field settings and may be outside. Typical positions require employees to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp, and turn objects; feel the size, shape, and temperature of items; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, and to detect odors. The employee needs to be agile enough to work under, in, and above equipment, systems, and structures.
