    Description

    Job Title: C5ISR System Engineer

    Location: Pascagoula, MS, US

    Position Overview

    The C5ISR System Engineer - Network and External Communications Systems oversees the design, integration, and maintenance of shipboard network and communications systems that support Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cybersecurity, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) operations. The position reports directly to the C5ISR Senior Project Engineer within the C5ISR Project Engineering Office.

    Job Responsibilities

    Design & Development

    • Develop system integration plans for network and communications systems for C5ISR platforms, including but not limited to internal data communications networks, external communications systems, video surveillance systems, and navigation systems.
    • Review and comment on sub-contractor design documents. Propose and implement programs to resolve design deficiencies.

    System Integration

    • Integrate C5ISR systems with other subsystems (e.g., Hull/Mechanical/Electrical) to ensure compatibility and operability.
    • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of C5ISR systems in lab and field environments.
    • Ensure systems meet required performance standards and regulatory requirements

    Maintenance & Upgrades

    • Oversee the planning and execution of system upgrades and modernization. Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
    • Write detailed reports and provide recommendations for system improvements.

    Project Management

    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on C5ISR projects.
    • Manage project timelines and technical milestones.

    Compliance & Testing

    • Ensure C5ISR designs comply with industry standards, Military Specifications, safety regulations, and project requirement documents.
    • Oversee installation, integration and testing of CFE and GFE C5ISR systems in the Production Integration Facility and aboard ship.

    Problem Solving

    • Identify and resolve complex electrical and C5ISR systems engineering challenges.
    • Apply engineering principles to enhance reliability and performance in harsh environments.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Shipyard or maritime field engineering experience.
    • Specific experience with network system design in general.
    • Military RF and SATCOM systems installation, integration and testing
    • Current DoD security clearance

    Required Qualifications

    • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, industrial technology, interdisciplinary studies with a technical concentration, or a related technical field.

    • Experience:

    • 2+ years of network and RF systems integration and testing experience.

    • Technical Skills:

    • Ability to read and interpret electrical designs, blueprints, and drawings.
