    Position Description:Industrial Power Solutions is seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented Project Engineer with a strong background in heavy commercial and industrial electrical systems. This role is critical to the planning, execution, and technical oversight of electrical projects. The ideal candidate will bring field-based experience and engineering insight to support project execution, resource management, and technical coordination.You will work directly with Project Managers and site supervisors to drive project efficiency and ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and design specifications. Your ability to bridge field conditions with engineered design will be essential to maintaining project integrity and client satisfaction.Core Responsibilities:Analyze and support the development of project proposals and electrical system designs, including timelines, budgets, labor forecasts, and materialsAssist in developing and reviewing detailed electrical drawings, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and submittals in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and local code requirementsCoordinate with field electricians and foremen to resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions during constructionMaintain accurate technical documentation, including RFIs, submittals, as-builts, and commissioning recordsTrack and manage project scope, schedules, procurement, labor allocation, and change orders to support successful field executionProvide on-site field engineering support and technical guidance during construction, startup, and commissioning phasesEnsure project execution aligns with IPS standards, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirementsParticipate in QA/QC activities, equipment testing, and verification of electrical installationsSupport financial tracking, including invoicing, payroll coding, purchasing, and contract complianceMinimum Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of hands-on electrical experience in an industrial or heavy commercial construction environment, preferably with a background as an electrician or electrical foremanStrong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), industry best practices, and electrical construction methodsExperience with water/wastewater treatment facilities, food processing plants, or manufacturing environments is highly preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and project management software toolsStrong technical writing, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and engineered plansPreferred Qualifications:Electrical Engineering Technology degree or relevant technical trainingOSHA 30, MSHA, or other relevant safety certificationsExperience with PLCs, VFDs, SCADA systems, or motor control centers (MCCs)What We Offer:Competitive salary with performance-based incentivesComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, including HSA options401(k) retirement plan with company matchPaid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysOpportunities for professional development and continuing educationA field-forward, team-based work environment that values innovation and accountabilityCompany Overview:At Industrial Power Solutions, we specialize in delivering electrical and controls systems tailored for complex industrial environments, including water/wastewater infrastructure, manufacturing plants, and food processing facilities.
