PE license preferred (or needs to be interested in getting their PE license)
Knows the NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA standards and local codes
Willing to travel around the United States (20-30%)
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are a must
Responsibilities:
Prepare design deliverables including but not limited to single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, conduit and cable schedules, panel board schedules, interconnection wiring drawings, cable tray and conduit plans, grounding plans, process and instrumentation diagrams, network architecture drawings and design detail drawings.
Prepare demand load, voltage drop, short-circuit, device coordination and arc flash studies. Perform wire sizing, conduit fill and cable tray sizing calculations.
Select and size all electrical equipment and materials including low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, motors, drives, cable, conduit etc.
Design control panels and operator stations incorporating VFDs, PLCs, transformers, relays, push buttons, pilot lights.
Develop BOMs for the control panels and operator stations.
Prepare project scope documents and design criteria.
Develop RFP drawings and as-built drawings.
Develop bid packages.
Ensure that all designs meet or exceed design and specification criteria.
Work with construction & project managers, vendors, and OEMs to prevent or fix issues that occur in the field.
Travel for site surveys, construction, and startup support.
