Position Title: Electrical PE – Indiana & New Mexico Licensed
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: Hybrid, U.S.-based preferred
Project Type: Solar PV, BESS, utility interconnection, distribution, and power delivery projects

Position Summary
DST Engineers is seeking an experienced Electrical Professional Engineer licensed in Indiana and New Mexico to support signed/sealed engineering packages and utility filing requirements for renewable energy and power delivery projects. This is a contract-based 1099 role for a U.S.-based PE who can review, approve, and seal electrical engineering deliverables in accordance with applicable codes, utility standards, and state requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Review and seal electrical engineering drawings and design packages for Indiana and New Mexico projects.
Support utility filing, permitting, and interconnection-related engineering documentation.
Review single-line diagrams, electrical calculations, equipment layouts, grounding, protection, metering, and medium-voltage design documents.
Confirm compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA, utility standards, and state PE requirements.
Provide technical comments and recommendations during design review.
Coordinate with DST engineering teams, project managers, and client reviewers.
Support responses to utility comments, RFIs, and technical clarification requests.
Identify engineering risks related to safety, code compliance, equipment ratings, reliability, and constructability.
Provide professional engineering oversight for electrical deliverables requiring PE seal.

Required Qualifications
Active Professional Engineer license in Indiana.
Active Professional Engineer license in New Mexico.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
8+ years of electrical engineering experience preferred.
Experience sealing electrical drawings for utility, renewable energy, substation, distribution, or power delivery projects.
Strong understanding of medium-voltage electrical systems, grounding, protection, transformers, switchgear, metering, and interconnection requirements.
Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA, and utility design standards.
Ability to review drawings, calculations, and technical documents independently.
Strong communication and technical review skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with solar PV and BESS projects.
Experience with utility interconnection and permitting packages.
Additional PE licenses in other U.S. states.
Owner’s Engineering or EPC design review experience.

Contract Details
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Work will be assigned on a project-by-project basis. The selected candidate must be able to provide PE review and sealing support for projects located in Indiana and New Mexico.
