Position Overview


RGD Project Management, Inc. is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical & Mechanical Engineer to support the planning, design, analysis, and execution of engineering projects across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing engineering solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary project activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, and review electrical and mechanical systems for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Develop and review electrical distribution systems, power systems, motor controls, HVAC systems, piping systems, and mechanical equipment layouts.
  • Perform equipment sizing, load calculations, system modeling, and engineering evaluations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines throughout project execution.
  • Conduct field investigations, site assessments, inspections, and commissioning activities as required.
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues while maintaining project schedules and quality standards.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable codes, regulations, safety requirements, and industry standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and engineering recommendations.
  • Provide technical support during construction, startup, and commissioning phases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, design practices, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with engineering design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, SolidWorks, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience with power distribution systems, HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, piping systems, and building or industrial infrastructure.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in engineering consulting, project management, manufacturing, utilities, energy, water/wastewater, or infrastructure industries.
  • Familiarity with construction administration, commissioning, and field engineering activities.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices, energy efficiency, and modern engineering technologies.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
