The Embedded Systems Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and support of embedded electronics systems used in applications. This role focuses on building and maintaining control and monitoring systems that support friction modifier application, along with associated sensor technologies used in the field.
You will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, field teams, and external partners to deliver reliable, production-ready embedded systems. The role spans full product lifecycle ownership—from early concept through prototyping, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of both new and existing systems.
What You'll Do
Lead and support the development of embedded electronics systems from concept through design, simulation, prototyping, testing, and production readiness
Design, document, and prototype hardware solutions including analog/digital circuits and embedded system components
Develop and maintain embedded firmware and operating systems
Manage sustaining engineering efforts as well as new product development initiatives within the electronics team
Partner with third-party design vendors to review, optimize, and integrate outsourced hardware and firmware solutions
Provide technical support to internal teams including sales, customer service, field service, and applications engineering
Investigate and troubleshoot field issues, including failure analysis of returned systems and implementation of corrective actions
Perform verification and validation testing on prototypes and production systems
Create and maintain technical documentation such as user manuals, datasheets, and troubleshooting guides
Support remote monitoring and administration of deployed friction control assets
Travel to customer and supplier sites as needed
Contribute to additional engineering and project needs as assigned
