This role plays a critical part in advancing product innovation by leading electrical design efforts, supporting cross‑functional teams, and ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in electrical systems design, control strategies, and product development within HVAC or related industrial equipment environments.What You'll DoLead the electrical design and development of power panels, control panels, and wire harnesses in compliance with UL, NEC, CSA, and CE standardsDevelop and communicate control strategies to software engineering teams using flowcharts, state diagrams, and system‑level logic frameworksProvide technical leadership and direction across engineering, lab, production, product management, service, and application teamsAnalyze product design requirements and recommend optimized electrical solutions aligned with performance, cost, and manufacturability goalsDesign and implement electrical systems, including component selection and system integration into chiller productsDefine test criteria, support laboratory validation efforts, and analyze performance data to improve system reliability and efficiencyIdentify electrical performance issues through testing and field feedback and drive root cause analysis and corrective actionsPrepare, review, and release detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, schematics, and specificationsLead and participate in design reviews, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practicesSupport production, field service, and application engineering teams with technical expertise and issue resolutionDrive project timelines and ensure on‑time delivery of engineering milestonesContinuously develop expertise in chiller systems, electrical systems, and HVAC applicationsPromote continuous improvement, collaboration, and engineering excellence across global teamsAdhere to ADTI's Code of Conduct, safety policies, and quality standardsWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited) required5+ years of experience in electrical engineering within product development, preferably in HVAC or industrial equipmentStrong experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, control circuitry, and system integrationProven ability to analyze electrical loads and develop efficient, reliable system architecturesProficiency in interpreting and developing control logic for embedded systems and PLC‑based environmentsStrong knowledge of electrical components such as motors, VFDs (inverter drives), soft starters, contactors, and circuit protection devicesExperience working with regulatory standards including UL, NEC, CSA, and CEDemonstrated ability to lead technical efforts and collaborate cross‑functionallyStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging capabilitiesEffective communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts across technical and non‑technical stakeholdersStrong organizational and project management skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in HVAC systems, specifically chillers or similar thermal/mechanical equipmentFamiliarity with global product development and manufacturing environmentsExperience supporting lab testing and validation processesExposure to system‑level product design and performance optimizationExperience working in a matrixed or global engineering organizationAdditional RequirementsAbility to travel up to 15%, including occasional international travelMust be authorized to work in the United States (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder)Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a professional office setting in Plano, TX, with regular interaction across engineering labs, manufacturing facilities, and cross‑functional teams.
