Position Summary: You are responsible for developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs, supporting larger projects or leading smaller system designs. You will provide technical guidance to junior team members and support both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate requirements into system architecture and detailed designs
Design and integrate industrial automation systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and machine controls
Evaluate and develop new or modified equipment based on technical and economic feasibility
Validate designs through analysis and testing
Coordinate design efforts, provide project updates, and support production schedules
Lead and participate in cross-functional design reviews
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Experience: 3+ years in electromechanical system design
Certifications: EIT preferred; ability to obtain required safety certifications
Technical Skills:
Experience with industrial automation, power distribution (480VAC), motor controls, and variable speed drives
Familiarity with control systems, generators, and traction systems (AC/DC)
Proficiency with MS Office; experience with Autodesk and ERP systems preferred
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and guide junior engineers
Additional Details:
Up to 5% travel
Primarily office-based with occasional field exposure
