Position Summary: You are responsible for developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager. You will provide direction to designers and drafters regarding the documentation of their designs. You will provide engineering support to internal and external customers and performs other tasks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate requirements into system architecture and detailed designs
Design and integrate industrial automation systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and machine controls
Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.
Validate designs through analysis and testing
Coordinate design efforts, provide project updates, and support production schedules
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Experience: 0+ years in electromechanical system design
Certifications: EIT preferred; ability to obtain required safety certifications
Technical Skills:
Experience with industrial automation, power distribution (480VAC), motor controls, and variable speed drives
Familiarity with control systems, generators, and traction systems (AC/DC)
Additional Details:
Up to 5% travel
Primarily office-based with occasional field exposure
