The Planning Yard team supports the Landing Craft Division in the maintenance of the Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), the planning and maintenance of the new Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) and the configuration and engineering management of the new Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1700.You will be part of a 12-person Engineering team consisting of mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineers that works closely with the customer in delivering quality products and services to the fleet.ResponsibilitiesServe as an Electrical engineer in the Planning Yard with primary focus on the LCU 1700 program. You may be called upon to support other programs as needed.Develop and revise installation and alteration drawings for the LCU 1700 program to support availabilities, Craft Change Documents (CCDs), and Liaison Action Requests (LARs).Edit new and revised technical manuals.Review and/or develop design changes and their incorporation in engineering drawings and schematics.Create, revise, and review Technical Manual Deficiency/Evaluation Reports (TMDERs).Maintain a 3-D CAD ShipConstructor model database for the LCU 1700 class.Provide technical troubleshooting and review of new component designs.Travel to shipyards and perform on-site craft inspections to verify craft configuration and currency with documentation.Maintain workload and respond to tasking within the schedule and technical requirements identified in the Integrated Data Environment (IDE).Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering2 years of relevant work experienceYou must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD clearance upon employment.Proficiency in AutoCADKnowledge of electrical engineering principles, methods, and techniquesKnowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and softwareEffective organization level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookThis position requires travel to shipyards 2-4 times per year to conduct craft inspections. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in small spaces when conducting inspections on the craft.Additional Desired Skills and ExperiencePrior experience working in engineering in the Navy or Marine IndustryKnowledge and experience SolidWorks or ShipConstructor 3D modeling programBenefitsSalary range: The range for this position can be found at the top of this posting.
